SDXC Adapter for the iPod
For those seeking solid state storage capabilities for their iPod, the iFlash-Solo allows you to install and use SD/SDHC/SDXC cards.
With much lower power consumption than the original Hard drive, longer runtimes and quicker user interface.
Simple plug & play installation – iPod works as before just much better !

Using suitable tools, release the holding clips, making your way around the case till it opens. I suggest watching some iPod opening videos on the internet.

Before pulling the case apart, release the battery cable – lift the black lock bar -or- gently using even pressure pull up the battery ribbon away from the connector.

Rest the front and back side by side, be careful to not cause too much stress on the headphone ribbon.

Lift and flip back the hard drive. Gently lift the black bar to release the ribbon from the HDD.
HDD removal

Remove all rubber bumpers and strips from the iPods if any remain after the HDD is removed. iPod is ready to accept the iFlash board.

Insert and lock the SD card in to the iFlash-Solo. Make sure the black bar has been raised on the Zif connector.

Install iFlash-Solo in to the iPod, make sure the ribbon is fully home, then lock the black bar down.

Attach Foam Pad(s) on top of the SD connector, overlap on to the SD card – this will secure the SD card from releasing from the iFlash-Solo. Use two pads if fitting in to a thick caseback.

Slide battery cable in to the connector and push down the black latch to lock the ribbon in place.

General Notes:
All modern UHS-I U1 and U3 cards will generally work ok. We suggest buying the fastest card in your budget as they tend to have faster access times and better quality memory chips.
Tip: MicroSD market is full of fake and mislabeled cards – try to purchase cards which the seller has obtained directly from the manufacturer. Be wary of cheap, high capacity cards – If it looks too good to be true – then it is fake! We always suggest testing the SD card fully using something like H2Testw.
